A QR match: from court to rating

Back to all guides

Who it is for: any four players going on court together.

What you will get: a counted match and an updated rating for all four players.

  1. Tap “Playing now”. One of the four players does this and takes charge of the match. The app starts a timer.

  5. Show the QR code. It appears large on the same screen. The other three players scan it with their phone cameras. The code changes every 30 seconds: forwarding it to a chat will not work; it must be scanned there in person.

  6. Each player who scans sees the score and the time the match will count. Scanning is confirmation: there is no extra button to tap.

  7. An hour later, all four ratings update, provided everyone scanned and nobody disputed the score.

If something goes wrong

  • Someone does not have the app. Their camera opens the match in a browser, where they can sign in with Apple or Google in seconds.
  • Not everyone has scanned yet. You have an hour, including when leaving the club. The player in charge gets a reminder 15 minutes before the deadline. If anyone has not scanned, the match stays in everyone’s “My matches” but does not affect ratings.
  • The score is wrong. A player who scanned can tap “Dispute” and enter their score before the match counts.
  • There is no internet on court. The score stays on the phone and on the watch. The score and QR screen shows one status: “Not sent”, “Sending”, or “Saved”. “Not sent”: “The score is on your phone and will be sent as soon as you're online.” “Sending”: “The score is going to the server.” “Saved”: “The score is on the server.” The QR code for the other three appears after that. While the server is replying, the screen says “The QR will appear when the server replies.”
